A series of workshops for kids aged 5 to 12 years old to learn weaving during School Holidays in April
Participants will be introduced to sustainable, waste-free, and accessible approaches to artmaking, inspiring them to nurture their creativity while developing a deeper respect for the environment around them. The workshop encourages connection to place and invites participants to see the creative potential in found materials, opening possibilities for imaginative play and making.

April 15, Weaving like a bird - Nests and Egg Making

Channel your inner bird with curiosity into how birds make a nest! We will admire their determination and focus and then recreate our own nests using plants and
other found material. Option to make some clay eggs to complete your nest creations.
April 16, Palm Sheath Pouches
10:00-12:00
Create a sculptural vessel using foraged Palm Sheaths and other treasures from nature. You will learn how to prepare the material, cut, hand-stitch and adorn with
found natural treasures into a beautiful wall pocket or pouch that can be worn. Using ancient string making techniques, we will also create a strap from plant
materials to hang your pouch.
April 17, Nature Weaves, Loom Weaving

Weaving on a simple loom to create a fabric wall hanging or table mat made from nature and found objects. Foraging walks to explore where we can find more of
nature's gifts to include in your unique art works design.
April 18, Circle Wall Hanging
10:00-12:00
Create a beautiful woven wall art, made on a handmade circle loom using plants, vines and other salvaged yarns/materials. Explore making patterns and textures using
different materials and weaving styles.
