Give your child the chance to turn their imagination into a live performance.
My Story - My World: Theatre Workshop is a fun, creative 6-session program where young participants explore storytelling through drama, movement, and performance. Guided by engaging theatre activities and games, children will develop their own stories and bring them to life on stage as part of a supportive ensemble.
Across the program, participants will:
Learn the basics of storytelling, including beginning, middle, and end
Explore movement-based storytelling inspired by contemporary theatre practices
Develop their own stories using both physical theatre and text
Build acting skills and confidence through character and performance exercises
Design simple props, costumes, and set elements to enhance their work
Collaborate with peers to create and rehearse a final performance
The workshop culminates in a special sharing where participants can invite family and friends to watch their original performances. A filmed version of the performance will also be included in a later community presentation.
This program supports creativity, confidence, teamwork, and self-expression in a safe and encouraging environment.
Who is this for?
Children aged 9-12 who enjoy storytelling, acting, or creative play-no prior experience needed.
What to bring:
Comfortable clothes for movement and a willingness to have fun.
Spaces are limited - bookings essential.
Schedule & Commitment:
This workshop runs across 6 sessions on Wednesdays, from 20 May to 24 June. Registration provides access to the full program, and participants are expected to attend all sessions.
As this is a collaborative theatre-making process, consistent attendance is important to ensure each participant can fully develop their work and contribute to the final performance.
The program will culminate in a recorded performance, which will be presented as part of the Youth Exhibition in September/October this year.
If you are unable to attend the full series, please let us know as soon as possible so the place can be offered to another participant.
Sessions are facilitated by No Small Dinosaurs | Theatre Collective
